Who you are working with

One Enrolled Agent, in Fresno & Clovis, handling your matter from the free review through the resolution.

Mayfair Tax Services is Jeremy Rolf’s practice. He is an Enrolled Agent, which means he is enrolled to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service in collection matters, audits and appeals. When you retain the firm, the person who reads your notice is the person who files your Form 2848, pulls your transcripts, writes your plan, and talks to the IRS.

The practice is built for one situation: you have received a Notice of Federal Tax Lien, a CP504, a Final Notice of Intent to Levy, or an audit letter, and you want to know what it means and what it will cost to deal with. Both answers come in writing.

Clients are in Fresno, Clovis and the surrounding Central Valley. Representation before the IRS is not limited by state, so the work is also done by phone and secure upload for clients elsewhere.

The credential

What an Enrolled Agent is

The designation is federal, examined, and governed by Treasury Department Circular 230.

Enrolled by examination

Circular 230 section 10.4: enrollment follows a written examination demonstrating special competence in tax matters, administered by the IRS.

Permitted to practice before the IRS

Section 10.3(c): an individual enrolled as an agent, not under suspension or disbarment, may practice before the Internal Revenue Service. That includes representing a client at conferences, hearings and meetings.

Renewed on continuing education

Section 10.6: renewal every third year on a minimum of 72 hours of continuing education per cycle, including six hours of ethics.

In plain termsPublication 594 lists who may represent you before the IRS: an attorney, a certified public accountant, an enrolled agent, or any person enrolled to practice before the IRS. An Enrolled Agent is a tax specialist by examination, and this practice does not describe itself as anything else.
